Need a project management office?
Is there no standard method for project-based working within the organisation? Do you need an up-to-date schedule? Are you looking for help with prognosis and security of the project finances? In short, do you think the organisation can take steps towards a higher maturity level with regards to project management?
The added value of a PMO
A project management office (PMO) is a department in an organisation that improves project management by standardising processes and optimising efficiency. Mojo helps with the successful design and staffing of a PMO tailored to your organisation.
Not every PMO will contain all the possible areas of attention a PMO can have. This depends on both the place in the organisation and the development stage. The biggest power of a PMO is that they can aggregate information from functional work areas to integrated information about a project, so management and other interested parties can have a complete overview. Every organisation chooses the focus areas that need the most attention.
The working method of MOJEO
By first speaking with the stakeholders and interested parties within the project organisation, a clear image is created of what these needs are. In response to this inventory, MOJEO comes with a concrete proposal in the form of the MOJEO PMO building blocks. We only focus on the building blocks that match the needs. For example, the building block ‘Planning & Estimating’ can be designed, with which the PMO facilitates up-to-date planning, including dependencies and progress checks. Or the building block ‘Project Secretariat’ can be set up if the project organisation needs to be unburdened in the area of facilities management, organising of meetings, reporting, and agreement management. By using building blocks, we can offer tailor-made solutions.

I was really enthusiastic about the first contact with Mojeo. The core values, mission, vision, and people all exude something more that simply can’t be ignored. The way in which Mojeo approaches clients and employees is professional, with a good dose of enthusiasm and especially a lot of eye for detail. In all respects they are an incredibly fun group to work with and especially work for!
The combination of joy and motivation are paramount in my work, my life, and successful projects. I like to share my knowledge and ideas, encourage people to work together, and focus on building relationships and efficient solutions. Adding something extra is something I naturally like doing. ‘Mojo’ is a concept that has been inseparably connected to me during my career and it always will be.
As programme manager I’m very satisfied about the set-up of the PMO and Mojeo’s working method. The delivered products are clear and the clients have good insight into the progress.

DE 10 PITFALLS OF THE PMO
Gartner Research estimates that Project Management Offices (PMO) have a success rate of less than 50 percent if they are created for the first time. Mojeo helps organisations ensure that they are successful in setting up their PMO from the start and helps avoid pitfalls that lead to failure. Based on our experience, we created a TOP TEN OF PMO PITFALLS and of course we’d also like to give advice on how they can be avoided….

It was quickly clear to me that Mojeo is very specialised in setting up a PMO.
Setting up a PMO at a healthcare organisation

A nice result-oriented collaboration in which MOJEO’s expertise in the field of PMOs was an added value for the organisation.
It always starts by interviewing the deciding stakeholders. The people who actually gave the question to MOJEO.
Setting up and managing a PMO
Rick: It always starts by interviewing the deciding stakeholders. The people who actually gave the question to MOJEO. Stan: I completely agree, you also follow up on the inventory phase by opening the conversation with the project managers and other stakeholders within the organisation. There’s a lot of information floating around that you want to include in this phase in a structured way.
I personally enjoy the short lines of communication we have internally and the space offered to come with my own ideas and initiatives.

Because of my need to meet challenges, to give more than is asked, and to be able to contribute to a progressing vision, I’ve always been attracted to project management. Mojeo gives me the opportunity to do this in a local setting with like-minded colleagues, who pick up assignments with a regional focus in the south of the country. I personally enjoy the short lines of communication we have internally and the space offered to come with my own ideas and initiatives. I feel like a fish in water within the boundaries of Mojeo’s services.
It can be very useful to make tools available for a PMO.
Why always that tool question?
(By Luc Moens)
If I ask you to close your eyes and imagine a carpenter, you’ll probably see a man with a hammer or a nice serrated saw. For a plumber, water pump pliers would come to mind. Since prehistoric times, tools have been very interesting. However, these days organisations seem to think that as long as the right tools are used, a project management office (PMO) can be an added value to an organisation….
